Charles Lu
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with the Windows version of Affinity Photo V2 where opening a PSD file results in infinite loading. The program seems to be stuck, displaying multiple layers without showing their names. Additionally, the canvas and the content in the middle of the screen have not loaded at all. Despite waiting several minutes, it remains in a frozen state with the cursor continuously spinning. This problem is specific to the Windows version; I don't have this issue on my iPad with the same psd file. My system configuration is as follows: OS: Windows 11 GPU: RTX 4080 CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K RAM: 32GB Affinity Photo Version: Latest version (downloaded from the Windows Store) Has anyone else encountered this problem or have any suggestions on how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Charles Lu
@Callum Thanks for the reply, I double verified that the problem does not exist with specific psd files, but with all psd files, regardless of size. I tried reinstalling Affinity Photo, but the issue exists as well. However, I downloaded Affinity Photo on my laptop as well, and it opens psd files with no problem. The cause could then be on my desktop. Is there a way to troubleshoot this please? Here's a screenshot of getting stuck on load The following images are the configurations I can think of that may have the problem: I've tried turning off hardware acceleration so far and that didn't fix it
Charles Lu
@Callum Update: It's not just psd that gets this problem, I try to create a new document and it also gets stuck. -------------------- Then I uninstalled it and redownloaded it from the Serif website, and it seems that the problem no longer exists. Maybe this problem is related to the Windows Store? Edited February 20 by Charles Lu new situation
Staff Callum Posted February 20 Staff Share Posted February 20 Its possible the Windows store version was causing this. We typically see crashing when loading the canvas where there is an issue with your GPU driver or .NET installations. If the Affinity store version of the app is working fine then you should just be able to continue using it without issue however if this issue occurs again I would try reinstalling the latest version of the .NET framework and your GPU driver.
