Hello,

Photoshop has a Ruler tool that allows you to draw a ruler, a line, across an image - edit the end points of the line if necessary - and then rotate the canvas with the arbitrary angle the line was drawn at.

Is there a similar tool in Affinity Photo? I have a very specific need to be able to rotate images very accurately a very small, but different amount.

Thanks for any information.

Tom

Hi macsurveyr,

Welcome to the forum.

Affinity Photo does not have a ruler tool the same as Photoshop rather this function is within the crop tool where there is the straighten tool which allows you to draw the line the you wish the rotate to follow and you can also manually relate the image.

Regards,

Darren

Hi Darren,

Thank you for the info. Using the straighten tool in the crop, is there a way to easily zoom and pan while drawing the line? I need to zoom into the pixel level to pick the places I want to straighten between but they are also on the opposite sides of fairly large images.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi, you can use Arrow tool instead Ruler tool for horizontal and vertical measurement. Result at transform panel.

Hi,

I really miss the "Ruler Tool" from PS or the "Measure Tool" from GIMP. Is there any way to measure angles and distances between to given points in Affinity Photo? Any plugin?

It's quite annoying to use another tool to perform this easy task which doesn't require any particular algorithm.

Regards,

Alberto.

I still need a ruler

And you all still need to be posting feature requests to the feature request section of the forum instead of to the questions section!
