Divide outline?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I have been using AD for awhile now, but everytime I tried to make a logo or something 'geometrical', always ends up in confusion and frustration :D

Here is what I meant
I try to divide any shape (with fill or just the outline) that I aligned carefully, but always ends up some gap.
.
.
.

and sometimes I even need to open 'so cracked illustrator' to make this thing smoothly and export it to AD...  :(

Need help :D Appreciate every response :)

Hi ricoDmarlon,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

That's due to the antialiasing picking the white from the background on object's boundaries.

This also happens with other software and it's not easy to improve.

Some things you can do to fix this is joining again objects that share the same fill colour or setting a thin stroke just to hide the boundaries, or placing an object with the same colour as the foreground behind your objects.

I hope this issue will perish later on :D

This is really causing me some trouble with a logo I'm working on for a client.

Even if I re-add two neighboring shapes together there's a rendered, fragmented gap.

See GIF below. Is there any way to re-add shapes without the anti-alias gap?

Thanks!
