I'm currently having to use my old Windows 8.1 PC while I do not have access to my Win 11 pc

I have downloaded the .exe installers but I'm still getting an error and they won't install.  I have also set the properties to Win 8 in compatibility mode but still the problem occurs.

Help appreciated as I can't access my newer pc right now

From the technical specifications, it is clear that Affinity applications require at least Win10.

You should be able to upgrade your 8.1 to 10 at no cost. I upgraded my WIN 7 machine to 10 after a hard drive failure. Works great and have installed V1 AP and AD.

Here is a MS link to down load WIN 10 with instructions to install.

Here is a link I used for more information and help.

Doesn't this depend on already having a Windows 10 licence for that PC? -  "... you will first need to have a license to install Windows 10".  AFAIK Microsoft stopped free upgrades several years ago,

It is no longer possible to upgrade to Windows 10 free of charge.
Microsoft removed this option a few weeks ago.

For other reasons, I want to keep this old one as win 8.1 - that's why I resurrected it.  Under normal circumstances, I use my newer Win 11 pc but that's not possible this week.  I'm not messing up what I want to keep here for the sake of a week.

I also have a laptop which has all 3Affinities installed - it's just rather slow and chuggy for my work. But, it'll have to do for now
