No Tuppence
I am creating a seamless repeating pattern however, when I use the exported PNG or JPEG tile I have created (I have tested both PNG and JPEG) as a flood fill there is always a visible line where the tile repeats (see attached images). I have experimented with increasing the size of the background rectangle so that it overlaps the art board before exporting and also increasing the stroke of the rectangle as well as removing the stroke altogether but no matter what I do the line is always there when you use the tile as a flood fill. Any ideas what’s going on?
Staff NathanC Posted January 25 Staff Share Posted January 25 Welcome to the forums @No Tuppence, Could we possibly take a look at your original .afdesign file you created for the repeat pattern, along with the exported PNG/JPEG used for the bitmap fill so we can see what's potentially causing this? If you don't wish to share the files publicly I've provided a private upload link below. https://www.dropbox.com/request/GDDFZ56cA2rTFOVzA5jK Many thanks
No Tuppence
That’s not a problem, I’ve uploaded the file on the Drop Box link provided. Much appreciated!

Thanks for dropping those over, I've taken a look at your .afdesign file and it looks like it's caused by the 'Tile' artboard has an imprecise pixel location (X=70.5px), when exporting the artboard this is then rounded up and an additional edge of semi opaque pixels is visible. To avoid this happening, select the 'Tile' artboard and change the X axis value to a pixel aligned value (70px) and then export again, you should then find that the export is pixel perfect with the white edge removed from the repeating bitmap pattern. Having 'Force Pixel Alignment' turned on and 'Move by whole pixels' off next to the snapping menu along the toolbar helps ensure that positioned objects are pixel aligned, but will not retrospectively fix the postion of objects that have been previously transformed.
