duderonomy
Hello, After purchasing Affinity Suite 1.0, I for the life of me cannot use it as well as I used Photoshop (for minor editing). I am not yet "creative" with these apps. Not even close. I've been struggling with this impenetrable suite for years. Is the reason for this because Photoshop was little easier to use for novices? I don't think I am stupid. Ignorant? Sure. Stupid? No. I am so frustrated by this I'd like to admit my defeat and find paid help to walk me through a basic task like this one (with consideration for my specific (modest) requirements fro copying these grayscale pixels into another document). Is there a place where I could ask for help from a human that can pair on video conference? Outside of that, not even an LLM seems to be able to give me adequate direction to copy a logo-like image from one area of the first document and place it in another. I am simply not well-informed when it comes to this task. I do all right with Python and Ruby tho. I can pay for help. I could also watch a couple more videos to find the final clue that breaks this puzzle wide open! Any suggestions? Thank you!
GarryP
I’m not entirely sure what you are asking about but you can: select specific pixels with one or more of the selection tools; then copy those pixels from one document to another via the Copy/Paste functionality; and then you can move the pasted pixels with the Move Tool. There is no way that I know of to paste the selected pixels directly into a specific position in the target document. duderonomy
Dan C
Hi duderonomy, Additional to the above, once you've made your selection, ctrl J will make a duplicate of your selection onto a new layer. There is no way to do this within the same layer. though. If you are not able to do this, make sure the layer is a pixel layer and not an image layer (you can right click a layer to rasterise it into a pixel layer). It may be worth a post in our Feedback section of the forum. Lee duderonomy

Thanks. 12 hours ago, Lee_T said: Hi duderonomy, Additional to the above, once you've made your selection, ctrl J will make a duplicate of your selection onto a new layer. Who's great idea was it to remove the V1 videos? https://www.youtube.com/@AffinityPhotoOfficial Seriously, I did not realize a company could suck so much. I am not positively motivated to upgrade with that kind of customer support impairment. Westerwälder

Enjoy any humor absent knowledge of a person's full life circumstances and/or hardship. I returned today to say I found v1 in a playlist on the channel. I genuinely appreciate everyone's help as I try to learn the material. loukash
