Can't open IDML files created with Indesign 2024

Recommended Posts

I have tried saving multiple indd files as idml. None of these idml files are recognized by Apub. I packaged a file and out of the package the only file Apub recognized is the PDF.

Is there support article or video to aid in understanding what is possible with current Indesign files and what I have to do to convert all of them before my Adobe Cloud subscription expires in 4 days?

Hi @brainstewn and welcome to the forums,

Could you upload one of your IDML files rather than the INDD file so we can take a closer look?

Hi @brainstewn,

Please see the attached screenshot.  I'm missing all the images as they are linked, so they load as the Red Question mark for me but as long as the images are still in the same location, they should load okay for you.  I'm also missing the Fonts used, so the text won't look correct.

All i did was open your .indd file in InDesign and used File>Save As and set the Format to InDesign CS4 or Later (IDML) and then i was able to open the IDML in Affinity.
