Dimenta Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 You really should at least be able to enable cursor precise selection when selecting objects with Move tool. If I click on top of a line and there's lots of other lines next to it it will in most cases select some other line instead. It seems like I have to click somewhere along line object's boundaries or some random place in order to select a line. Really really frusturating if there's objects close to each other. How come it's not working the way I would expecting: selecting an object when clicking on top of the line?? Designer/Publisher is being promoted to be very good at handling and selecting lots of elements and objects but to me it seems not that good. Oh.. And also a lasso selection tool would be very welcomed. Quote
Dimenta Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 Here's an example screencapture vid. I'm trying to select the line below the green area. It just keeps selecting anything but that line. So annoying!😣 Affinity Publisher 2 2024-01-19 11-53-14.mp4 Quote
GarryP Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 I don’t really understand how to reconcile the video and your description. You say you are trying to select the line under the green area but most of your clicking is happening nowhere near the line which I am interpreting as the one you are concerned with. By “under” the green area do you mean something which is obscured by (lower in the layer stack) the green area or something which is vertically downwards from the green area, or something else? Have you tried setting the “Auto-select” functionality on the Context Toolbar to “Objects” instead of “Default”. Quote
Dimenta Posted January 22, 2024 Author Posted January 22, 2024 Yeah the video doesn't show how many times I tried clicking on the curve but I clicked multiple times (timecode 0:08 to 0:10) when the cursor is on top of the black line and nothing happens since it selects the curved line above it and nothing happens once it's selected since it's already selected evernthough it should select the black line below the green area where the cursor is. Autoselect seems to just select objects instead of groups but the same "feature" happens there too. Quote
Dimenta Posted January 22, 2024 Author Posted January 22, 2024 Here's another example video that shows it even better. I click dosens of times yet unable to select the curved line where the cursor is. And yes the curve is NOT locked or anything like that. It's selectable - if only I could select it🙈. walt.farrell Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Can you share a sample file that has that problem? Also, are you using a mouse, stylus, or trackpad there?
