gotanidea Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 To proportionally scale an object or to keep the object aspect ratio when scaling, we can hold the Alt key in Affinity Publisher. Could we change the modifier key to Shift? Quote
bbrother Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 I don't know where you get the idea that ALT is used to proportionally scale an object or maintain the object's proportions while scaling. The defaults in APub are (Windows): SHIFT-drag from a corner handle for Resize vector objects, maintaining aspect ratio. CTRL-drag from a corner handle for Resize an object from its center. Placed images (images layers) are treated differently. By default their aspect ratio is maintained when resizing and you need to use SHIFT-drag from corner handle to make the opposite (resize without maintaining aspect ratio). Quote

But if you drag from a middle handle then SHIFT-drag works in reverse for placed images There may be a good reason for this (that I don't understand) but it does get a bit confusing at times when working with placed images Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. I must've been drunk when I was scaling the objects. Could we change the Ctrl-drag to Alt-drag, for resizing an object from its center? Quote

It is not possible. This is the predefined (by the app) modifier key for this particular operation. It cannot be changed by the user to anything other like ALT. Quote
