The tech specs page (https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/full-feature-list/) states: HEIF with depth map (as separate layer) Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
lbohen Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 MikeTO; The tech sheet only applies to Affinity Photo. Correct? Does the addition of HEIF with depth map (as a separate layer) to Photo mean Photo will be able to work with / import HEIF images or will Photo be able to export as HEIF? While that page is for Photo, there are equivalent pages for the other apps and all of them have the same core features. You'll find the same HEIF information on the pages for Publisher and Designer. I believe this means that Affinity will be able to open HEIF images from your phone without issue. I don't think it can export to HEIF though. Somebody else might know better than me. sportflier Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Affinity Photo doesn't seem to work properly with HIF files (HEIF 4.2.2) from my Sony a6700. I tried with a portrait photo, Affinity Photo opens the photo in the correct orientation but repeating in a landscape frame, and apparently describes it having a sRGB color space. But I'm new at much of this (the camera and the software); I'm open to suggestions here. Quote

It might help if you could attach a sample file from your camera to a reply so others can see if they get the same results.
