Timtoon Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 I have a 3MB .afpub document that causes Publisher to crash a few moments after opening. I am able to rescue the document by deleting the page masters before they are rendered, can then undo the deleted masters, and the document works fine after that. But if I close the (now functioning) document and re-open it, Publisher will crash again when rendering the page. It only happens when opening the file. I have some large-scale images that aren't big files (1-12MB) with FX applied that I assume are the culprit. Misplacing the linked images so the Resource Manager doesn't find them when opening the file seems to also mitigate the issue. Staff Lee D Posted January 17, 2024 Staff Posted January 17, 2024 @Timtoon Welcome to the forums. Is the crash only occurring when that particular document is open? Are the linked images stored locally, external drive or cloud? Can you reproduce the issue using a new document? Quote
Timtoon Posted January 18, 2024 Author Posted January 18, 2024 Only on that particular document; it didn't used to be an issue until I added more linked images to the file and applied some effects. Sometimes if I delete or move a linked image, the file will open without issue. The linked images are all stored locally, in a subdirectory of the .afpub file. I haven't been able to replicate the error in a new file, only the original. I'm not sure what combination of layers, FX, and adjustments to linked images may have caused it. Testing is difficult because I'm trying to delete linked images before the file crashes Publisher. Quote
