bobdobbs Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Another noob question from me, I'm afraid. While I'm creating my booklet I hit an issue with the default behaviour of Publisher. Every Pge is A4 sized. After creating the first Page in the Pages panel, I go to create a new page. Pages after Page 1 are created as spreads (I might be using the wrong word, sorry). That is, they are created as two affixed pages. It's most likely that I'll printing from a printer that only does single-sided printing. Just so I don't get confused, I'd like every newly-created Page in the Pages Panel to be a single page rather than a double. I get that this is probably not the kind of behaviour that Publisher is built for. But is there a way to do this? Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 In the Export dialog, you can choose "All Pages" for the Area option even if the document is organized as Facing Pages (Spreads). But you can also start from the beginning with the Facing Pages option turned off when you create the document. thomaso Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 For a booklet it is useful to create the layout in facing pages (spreads), which is an option in the document setup/properties. For export + print you have the "Area" option in the dialog windows which lets you choose again. (oddly, there the option for single pages is named "All Pages"). "Single-sided printing" might concern a different aspect: printing on both sides of a sheet (front and back side). This is independent from the layout with single or facing (left/right) pages. Catshill Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Exporting to spreads by default and not remembering that you want pages is a very frustrating bug/feature that never seems to be fixed and it’s been a “feature” of the suite for many years. Quote

Yes, you can do that, but it can easily mess-up the layout of the document, from reports I've read here so I probably would not do that, myself.
