Can you give us more details of what's happening? And maybe a screenshot so we can see a bit of what you see. :).

I simply no longer believe that there are any professional graphic designers here. Everything follows suit. Just everything.

That's because your circle is still a shape, a built-in functionality that you can adjust with the options in the context toolbar. Other shapes can be adjusted more directly in the shape itself.

If you want to edit the circle as a regular vector object, select Layer -> Convert to curves or right-click and select convert to curves.

You should now see four nodes that you can adjust with the node tool.
