mrqasq Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 (edited) Hello, Basically I made around 200 labels for products in Designer, and silly me I could swear I started with file with 2mm bleed all around. Now after I spent 2 days of creating I send my files to printshop, and they got back to me saying all is fun, but add bleed atleast 1.5mm around. Im like lol 0o! Checking file and yup, they're right, no bleed present. I can't really share my file due to this brand owner won't let me publish it. I can only show you this two I deleted sensitive data from it. Is there some fast way of adding it? I thought about creating macro for Photo, but files have to stay in PDF due to reasons they want it. My file consists of around 200 artboards sadly, which I'm not sure will be helpfull right now. Half of those are circular shape, top stickers (which also have to get 2mm bleed) around. Is this possible to have circular bleed? But most importantly I need to get it : fast, easy, and not a lot of time, since I'm already rendering those labels onto products and this is time and resource consuming I hope someone might have this issue in the past and may share some solution for me. Thanks in advance ! edit: I could select just white areas and black background, but reasons unknown - there isn't still "repeat last operation" option inside (I think) any of the software, so I would have to do it 200 times... mrqasq Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 i did that, but this made red bleed areas around artboards, but artboards are stil 3x7cm. so how to I get those 2mm in? i would have to resize 200 artboards ? Quote

This is how bleed is expected and meant to be handled: Not increasing the final print page size but adding bleed (as your topic says) which gets cut after print. Unfortunately, there still seems to be a bug with bleed & multiple artboards … which possibly may require workarounds done to the document layers. – Note, the thread below started in 2021 (V1) and jumped to 2023 (V2) at the end of page 1. So maybe you first want to try to export via the Export menu command, not the Export Persona. Also unfortunately it seems another bleed bug for print (not export) got fixed in Nov. 2023 … but was reported in Dez 2023 once more. mrqasq Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 Just to be clear, I am in fact exporting through File->Export->PDF, where all files are saved in one PDF file, but bleed is not present. Also Im not sure with what bleed are you familair with, but in my case bleed is created by expanding all colors to bleed area, not just adding blank space Quote

(kind of 1 click as mentioned by @loukash) But if the objects need to get created larger (as in your circle example screenshot) then you need to edit each of the according objects. Possibly you use the Contour Tool to increase the outer shapes (e.g. instead of resizing via Transform Panel). Dirty workaround: If you alternatively want to increase all objects on all artboards simultaneously but without increasing the artboards you can choose "Select All" -> activate the Context Toolbar option "Transform Objects Separately" -> set the anchor in the Transform Panel to centred -> and add a percentage for Width or Height (with the aspect ratio locked active). This enlarging method also works for selected objects only but then it may require many single clicks to select the wanted objects. mrqasq 1 Quote • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.5. | Affinity V2.6

I will try it and report back YES. This is the solution. Thanks mate! thomaso 1 Quote
