What function allows a tap & hold to select & use a color - and can it be disabled?

I find myself sampling the white background unintentionally while drawing frequently, but I can’t find it in the helpfiles. Can it be disabled?

Hi @Joe S.,

Whilst using the Paint Brush tools in Affinity for iPad, a long press and drag on the canvas will activate the Colour Picker tool to allow you to sample a colour from the document and immediately apply this to the brush.

Unfortunately there's no option to disable this behaviour at this time - however I agree that it certainly could be better covered in the helpfile, as only the ALT modifier is mentioned and not the press and hold action.

I'll get this logged with our documentation team now, to be improved in the future.

Thanks Dan! Now that I know how it works I can at least try to avoid the movement.
