I am a non-English speaker. I use a translation tool.

I have just downloaded the app and started using it.
When I try to select an item by clicking on "File" etc. as shown in the attached video, the item is blacked out and I cannot select it.
It also crashes after a while.

I have not been able to use it properly since I downloaded it. Can you please help me?

I am also attaching a crash report.
The OS is Win11 and I have the latest updates.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry to hear you're having problems.

One comment: the file you attached is a log file, not a crash report. A crash report would be a .dmp file. But it sounds like you're not crashing, so you probably don't have one of those.

The symptom you show in your recording looks to me like interference by some other software you have installed, specifically one that may show up as ASUS Sonic or ASUS GPU Tweak or MSI Nahimic. But there is other software that may cause issues, too. For a more complete list, please see:

Hi @hosiiy,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums & sorry to see you're having trouble!

Firstly, your screen recording shows you using the Edit (E) and Text (T) menus, but not the File (F) menu. Many options in the app will be 'greyed out' when you have no file active.

Please use File > New or File > Open to create/import a document in Affinity Photo and you should find that many of these menu options become accessible.

Equally, as Walt mentions above, the issue with the menu options become blank when hovering the cursor is caused by a third party app on your device, the thread linked above contains information on how to resolve this within Affinity.

Unfortunately the file you've attached is not a crash report, although it does show that you're using a version of AMD's Adrenaline driver which has known crashing issues.

I'd recommend ensuring you have the very latest GPU driver for your device, directly from AMDs website to avoid these crashes.

I hope this helps :)

Thank you for your response.
I have installed the latest drivers.
I will keep this in mind in case the problem occurs again.

Thank you very much!
