JoshuaMeadows Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 I just updated to 2.3.1 and all plugins are greyed out. I had the .msix installer, tried the .exe installer. Removed every plugin I don't use (although every plugin worked fine before updating). I verified settings -> Photoshop Plugins -> Allow "Unknown plugins to be used was enabled. I tried removing any possible duplicate listings. Win 11 Ver. 23H2 Build 22631.3007 Quote
R C-R Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 You are trying to use a Plugin filter on an Image layer. You need to convert it to a Pixel layer for the plugins to work. FWIW, that is the same link as in my post above where I linked it to the text "image layer," except that mine is to the US English page rather than the British one. JoshuaMeadows Posted January 16, 2024 Author Posted January 16, 2024 Well Rasterization worked fine. I've always opened images in plugins the same way for years now, I guess the images must have always been rasterized before now. Thanks everyone! Dan C 1 Quote
CRWillow Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I have Affinty Photo,Designer and Publisher 2. Working on PC. And I have the grayed out problem too but my image is already rasterized.I tried reinstalling the plugins and nothing said they wouldn't work because I'm using Af 2. Their showing up but and say they're working but not on the working screen. I'm sure it's something I'm not doing right but can't find out what it is. Any ideas? Small rant here, feel free to ignore- I don't use plugins much because it's always a hassle to figure out why they work occasionally and others like this grayed out not at all. I would like to get more familiar with their uses but not when I have to take hours search for why they are working this time. Quote

Some plug ins only work on 8 bit, and I'm sure that all plug ins need RGB files regardless of bit depth. This seems likely so @CRWillow if you open Document > Convert Format / ICC Profile, what does it say is the current file format? CRWillow Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Good news it's working , bad news don't know why. It's set for RGB/8. I checked that before, but forgot to say so. I inserted a shot of what the Convert window looks like. Honestly don't know what the highlighted sRGB is; it's just want it defaults to. I had tried it on a stock photo from Pexel when my stuff didn't work and it was grayed out for it too. Maybe it's something in my PC because I restarted the computer this time not just AP and it stopped being gray, at least for the moment. I really don't know why this happens. But thank you. I'll probably have to bug you when it happens again - because it always does Quote
