Just like my title says, all the assets in Photo and Designer that I created are gone. POOF. If I had known this was a possibility, I could have at least exported them before the update. Now I have to spend the next several days remaking them.

It should not happen. What release were you updating from, and what OS?

If you have good system backups the files should be recoverable.

Windows 11 and the update was 2.3.1 though I am not sure what it was previously. I have had photo vs 2 since November 2022, I bought the upgrade for vs 2 (I previously had publisher vs 1) End of November 2023. This is the first time it's asked to update it. Oddly enough after checking, the assets I made in Publisher BEFOR I upgraded are still there. It's only all the assets I made since the upgrade to vs 2 that are gone.

If you have good system backups, this FAQ will tell you where you can find your assets.propcol file for the installed appications. You could look for that file in your backups and restore it (when the applications are not running).

After making sure you found the right backup copy and that it has a reasonable size and date, you:

1. Rename your current assets.propcol to preserve it in case Serif needs to see it, and then

2. You copy the backup assets.propcol into the directory shown in the FAQ.

Hi @yulandadm,

Could you upload the renamed assets.propcol file to our Dropbox here and I can see if it can be recovered.

As this isn't expected behaviour, how did you install the update?  Was it automatically downloaded and installed within the app or did you go to our website and manually download the update?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. This was an update through the app itself. When I restarted my computer and my programs, they were all back to where they were before, so I now have all my assets back. Not sure what was going on, but I am thankful they are back.
