quark67 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Here is a video tutorial: But this don't work here. As show in the video, I take the selection tool, and draw the selection around the object. As in the video, I copy the selection with command+C (ctrl+C in the video, as it use Windows). But, if I show the clipboard (menu Edition of the Finder in the Mac), I see this : (it's the screenshot of the YouTube Tutorial used for having a demonstration image, not the pixels under the selection). Anyway, if I use the moving tool : it's the entire image which is selected : On YouTube, the 8 dots are around the selection: What I am missing, please? Can you show step by step with images how to displace this balloon in this image? Thanks for the help. Quote
R C-R Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 In the video a Pixel layer is selected but you have an Image layer selected. To get the same results as in the video, rasterize your Image layer, for instance by right-clicking on it in the layers panel & choosing "Rasterize" from the popup menu. quark67 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
v_kyr Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 There is a difference between opening ("File -> Open...") and placing ("File -> Place") aka dragging an image into APh. The first one ("File -> Open...") opens a file as a pixel layer, the second one ("File -> Place" or dragging into) will create an embedded image layer instead. - So in order to make a pixel layer out of an image layer, you have to rasterize the embedded image layer. Afterwards copy/paste (Cmd-C/Cmd-V) the made selection which will give you another pixel layer of the selected portion. To dismiss the selection use Cmd-D. screencast_ball.mp4 quark67 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
quark67 Posted January 14, 2024 Author Posted January 14, 2024 A big thanks to R C-R and v_kyr! You have spotted the point! It's exactly that! I need to learn some basics. Quote
