@Affinity Rat Which model iPad and iPadOS are you using?

On the Layers studio, if you tap the icon to switch the view mode, does this have any effect?

Also if you tap the Preferences icon on the Layers studio, which options are enabled?

If you rotate your device into portrait, can you scroll the through the layers?

If possible can you save your file and send me a download link via DM so I can test the same process on ours?

Ipad mini 6th generation Model MK7V3LL/A 256gb 160 Gb available

iPadOS 16.6.1 (20G81)

I also have iPad Pro 10.5”, slightly different os 16.5.1 256gb didnt try it there, i see 17.2 available but dont want it.

In portrait mode (iPad mini), expanding layer groups doesnt expand layer palette all the way to the periphery, seem ok in this orientation.

Maybe you can see in vdo, I can click on bottom layer highlight it but cant drag it upward. Clicking down there gives appearance of 2 overlapping layers.

I presume the pic below are the layer palette preferences you were referring to.

Definitely a bugI deleted all layers and still ghost layer at btm still there.

Interesting, exported file with no layers to psd and ghost layer still in layer palette when open psd in Affinity photo v2.

Turning the iPad off and back on got rid of ghost layer from hell.

Deleted the pic above because it wasnt representative of conditions when problem occured, I had played around in here to see if I could get rid of night of the living dead ghost icon from bowels of hell.

Memory leak, implied by disappearing in all files after reboot. Maybe it could be awoken by expanding the layer palette are releasing all those layers holding it down.
