Hi,

in photoshop I can downsize a jpg without any problems, in affinity I get a blurry result. Anybody has a solution?

I searched the forum, but the proposals to use another software or so are not really useful. It should be possible with affinity, no?

Hi @Achim17 and welcome to the forums,

For clarity, by downsize, are you referring to the dimensions of the jpg file or its file size?

Could you let us know the method you've used so far to downsize the file, the pixel dimensions (width and height) and the dpi of the original file along with the size it needs to be once downsized?

Is the image being used on a website or for some other purpose?

Hi Hangman,

I did a file in Publisher with letters and forms. I exported this as a jpg because I need it in OBS in a certain size to show it during a presentation.

I downsize it through photo persona, when I export it to the desired size. The letters than have strange artefacts and the forms like circles too.

The same happens when I click on document - change document size in photo persona.

dpi is always 300, bilinear original size is A4 I want to get to a smaller format like 8 cm in length.

Thank you for any ideas

Hi @Achim17,

Are the graphics you create in Publisher effectively all vector-based, i.e., a mix of shapes and editable text (or similar)?

If so then I would be inclined to keep everything in vector format then scale the vector elements to the size you need it and then export that as your smaller jpg. That way you won't see the same issues with text artifacts...

If this isn't the make-up of the file are you able to upload your original Publisher file so we can take a closer look?
