Sorry for bringing you to the table @Patrick Connor but i have two questions:

  1. Is the list of new features and improvements presented in the first 2.4 beta version closed?
  2. Can we expect that there will be additional new functions presented in subsequent 2.4 beta versions (beyond those already presented)?

That is not really 2 questions, it is one question phrased 2 different ways ;)

We now try to launch the betas with all the features for that version, hence why we did not start before Xmas. However having said that we are trying to get an updated SerifLabs Raw version, but not sure if that will make 2.4.0 or be held back, but other than that this is the list for this beta cycle.

Fair point. Fair point. Sorry, I wanted to clearly define what I mean to dispel my doubts and curiosity.

Is this a one-time action for 2.4, or will this be the new standard from now on when the beta version is released?

It's our current approach, we did the same for 2.3 I think, and we'll try to continue going forward. It should lead to fewer regressions

I support this approach. This is a good solution, users are always excited and impatient waiting for the implementation of functions that are important from their point of view. It's better not to keep them in suspense.

I'm not a v2 user yet, but it would help me in my choice of a professional workflow.

I am a V2 user and I have the same opinion as you. Better communication about their development plans would be useful.
Why do we need this information? It's easy. Without such information, it is simply difficult for users to make decisions about:

  • purchase
  • migration to the next version
  • building workflow based on their apps

From time to time they reveal a veil of secrecy about pricing, updates. For example, they are known to be working on scripting. But it's not enough to make a decision.

If you wish to continue in this direction, have you (or could you) discuss internally the possibility of reintroducing a roadmap for the 3 apps?

I don't think this will happen (public roadmap) for several reasons such as:

  • Plans often change during the ongoing development
  • Roadmap gives to much information to other companies.
  • User complaints when the roadmap changes

Despite all the inconvenience of a public roadmap, I believe they would benefit more if it were available. What exactly would they gain:

  • They would gain more trust (priceless),
  • By involving users, they could better manage the process of reporting features that users would like to see implemented
  • Fewer dissatisfied customers. More conscious decisions and users, less reasons to complain.
