paul millet Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 (edited) Hello, One of our employees can't start affinity publisher anymore. It shows the affinity start up square but it quickly disappears and a crash report is written. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling it does not work any better. See a few attached .dmp crash report files publisher V2.3.1 - windows 10 professional 64bits 08e62f10-723d-4e8e-b043-52c29a08f045.dmp 69005a02-fa1f-4690-9b9f-c680346ddfdb.dmp 9d326f4c-b2f1-4e59-b9dc-f1001be1823f.dmp Edited January 10, 2024 by paul millet Quote
paul millet Posted January 11, 2024 Author Posted January 11, 2024 Does the support actually supports us at some point or is it just a community forum ? Quote

Someone from Serif should be along when your topic reaches the top of the stack. The benefit for users (such as myself) of the forums is that in many cases other users can provide answers. Not always, of course, but when they can the problem is resolved faster. But Serif staff definitely also provide support. There are just fewer of them than of us, so it can take awhile depending on how busy things are. grabuge 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. This should hopefully solve this issue. Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
paul millet Posted January 11, 2024 Author Posted January 11, 2024 Hello, Thank you for you answer I did that Already, it did not fix anything. I also cleaned up the affinity folder in the hidden user folder after uninstall as I saw it wasn't deleted upon uninstall, before reinstalling. Is there any useful information in the .dmp reports ? I can't read them... Quote
paul millet Posted January 11, 2024 Author Posted January 11, 2024 Ok little update : I got it to work. Browsing the forum I found a thread with people having the same issue with affinity photo. Strangely no one seems to report the issue with publisher, but we experience it. disabling openCL seems to be a temporary fix Launching publisher in a cmd window typing %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AffinityPublisher2.exe --no-ocl makes it run I created a .bat file on the user desktop, hoping affinity will release a patch soon Quote
