Has anything changed regarding the Quick Look file preview on the Mac? Unfortunately, I'm running on macOS Sonoma 14.2.1
still showing very same preview images of Affinity files.

I also noticed that you can't find any Affinity files using Spotlight search (apple + spacebar).

The QL plugin can only read preview thumbnails that were saved with Affinity documents: Settings → General → Save thumbnails with documents
No thumbnail = no preview.

Affinity docs count as "Other" kind and can only be searched by standard MacOS file attributes, not by document content.
To make them more searchable, use Finder Tags or Comments.

With Sequoia, there is no QL even when thumbnails are saved with documents.

That's a known issue, logged as AF-3857
