Hi all,

I've noticed in 2.3.1 (and 2.4 beta) that the pen and pencil tools both show as a crosshair regardless of whether CAPs lock is on or off.

Here's a video showing the problem:

When I enable then disable CAPs lock, the tool icon appears. But the moment I move the cursor or click to start drawing, it flips back to the crosshair.

Posted here rather than the beta bug report section as it's not a regression in 2.4, but it is still present there. It would be awesome if a fix could be implemented before public release of 2.4 :)

I don't see that behavior on my Mac, for either 2.3.1 or 2.4.0 Beta.

Curious, thanks for letting me know. I'll give my mac a reboot a bit later and see if I get the same behaviour. Could be the good ol' turn it off and on again approach will work. I've quit the Designer applications and restarted them but that didn't work.

Hi Max Danger,

Out of interest if you go into your Affinity apps preferences under user interface do you have always show brush crosshair ticked?

Thanks

Hi Callum,

Thanks for the suggestion, but that option is deselected:

I thought that might be the case, I'm also having some difficulty replicating this unfortunately I'll have to run it by the QA team tomorrow once I'm back in the office.

I've just done a full reboot and the problem has gone away on both release and beta versions of the app...

Not sure if that means it was a Mac issue or Affinity issue but great news for me either way now it's working properly :)
