Maxdanger Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Hi all, I was running a (large) focus merge today. When I left Affinity Photo to go to other apps while it ran, I noticed that the progress bar for the focus merge was showing above all my other windows without any way of hiding it. Clicking on the progress bar returns you to the Photo application: Progress bar displays over other apps.mp4 I'm using latest 2.3.1 and latest MacOS Sonoma 14.2.1. Posting as a bug as my assumption would be that this isn't intended behaviour. Staff NathanC Posted January 9, 2024 Staff Posted January 9, 2024 Hey @Maxdanger, I've now logged this with the developers, I can't see why this overlaying everything would be expected behaviour, and is also quite annoying. You can still minimise the app window to the dock via the yellow button to hide it, including the progress bar. Maxdanger 1 Quote
Maxdanger Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 So you can! Good spot, I'll do that until a fix is in place. Hangman Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 FWIW, this isn't unique to the progress bar it happens with several panels in Affinity apps... It certainly happens from time to time but I've never checked the specific circumstances under which it happens as it's usually right in the middle of something so I just tend to dismiss the panel and not think too much more about it... I've bookmarked this thread and will update it next time it happens hopefully with a screengrab... walt.farrell 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
walt.farrell Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 I know the undocked panels can float over the image in Affinity, but I've never seen panels float over other applications as you mentioned. Hangman Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 I usually see panels float over a web browser when switching between the two but it’s not something that is easy to replicate as it seems a little sporadic… Quote Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
