When selecting multiple chapters in a .afbook file and then double-clicking to open all the selected chapters, much like selecting sequentially numbered files in the finder, the chapters do not necessarily open in sequential order.

Subsequently, when this happens, even when 'Update Page Numbers Automatically' is not enabled in the Books Panel, the 'Update Page Numbers' progress bar is displayed indicating that Page Numbers are being Automatically updated...

I'm assuming this is not the expectation?

There's an outstanding improvement logged for this for documents to open in an sequentially rather than in the order that they load in based on the document contents/size, i'll update the existing report.

In my tests I'm not getting the progress bar but I'm seeing it automatically update the numbering in the panel without me asking it to with the auto setting disabled, but that may be because i'm only working on small chapters. I agree that it probably shouldn't be doing this so i'll get it logged.

As you say, I think the progress bar will only appear for larger files that take longer to update owing to either the number of pages or the complexity of the document but yes, there is no logic for auto-updating numbers when the option is specifically disabled in the Books panel so many thanks for logging...
