UdoK Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Hi all, I have a problem with my ILCE-6700 RAW format files. I attached a sample (Lossless Compressed) RAW image. If you open it in (Windows) Affinty Photo version 2.3.1, you can clearly see on the right border a ~ 30 pixel wide blurry area. Also, Affinity reports the image size to be 6272 x 4168 pixels, which is IMHO wrong. When I open the RAW images in Sony's Imaging Edge Software, they are rendered to 6192 x 4128, which is also the image size, when using JPEG instead of RAW on the camera. At the moment, I am cropping my images manually to 6192 x 4128. This is a bit inconvenient, but the easiest workaround. I also attached a screenshot of how the right border looks in Affinity. Is this problem known, any other users having the same issues? DSC00057.ARW Quote

Staff Lee D Posted January 9, 2024 Staff Posted January 9, 2024 @UdoKAs well as the links to threads @Carl123 provided explaining the difference in image dimensions. Part of the issue may be due to the camera model not being officially supported by the RAW engine we use or that no lens correction has been applied due to the lens not being recognised. See our supported RAW and Lens Correction list for V2 here Quote
UdoK Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 Thanks @Lee D, neither the camera (Sony Alpha 6700), nor the lens(es) I use on that model are in the list. I have no issues with my Alpha 7III, in combination with several Tamron lenses, all in that list. So it looks like this may be the cause. Somewhere I read that AP is using LibRaw for conversion. Do you have any influence or idea on when the Alpha 6700 will be supported? Else I would have to dig out my old C++ know-how and open a pull request on GitHub myself. Quote
Staff Lee D Posted January 9, 2024 Staff Posted January 9, 2024 @UdoK We do use LibRaw for our RAW engine within our apps. Unfortunately we don't have any influence or timeframe as to when new models will be added. Quote
