murraycreedle Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Hi, I've combed for answers to this issue but not luck yet. Hopefully someone is a brighter bulb than me! I have an associate that is working on a number of files for me (about 500+) and when he uploads them to google drive, I download them and then am unable to see them. I've tried about 50 so far, all the same. Although the file is "*.*.afdesign", it says "The file type is not supported." If it doesn't support that, what does it support?? They are openable on his iPad but not on my two different laptops and a desktop. The files are 4MB, typical, so I know it didn't save as a nothing file. My associate is away on family business for a while and I desperately need these files. What do I do? Thanks in advance for your brains. Quote

Are they really like "prepart.postpart.afdesign"? - Other than that check the files access rights and privileage settings. You may want also to take a look at ... How to switch seamlessly between Affinity on desktop and iPad ... and look also through the following topic related search results ... "affinity designer" ipad "the file type is not supported" Further always also name which ADe & macOS & iPad versions you are using (?)! Dan C Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Hi @murraycreedle, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Sorry to hear you're having trouble! We've seen issues occur previously with Google Drive and Affinity documents so it may be worth trying a different Cloud provider. Can you please ask your associate to upload a test file to a different Cloud service and let me know if the same error message is shown? If the same issue occurs, as Walt requests above, are you able to provide a sample document that fails to open for you currently? (if you'd like a private upload link for this file, please don't hesitate to ask) Just to confirm, are you both using Affinity Designer V2? Or are you using V2 whilst your associate is using V1? This should not cause the specific error you're seeing, but may help me to understand the report further. Many thanks in advance! Quote
