How to display document statistics

I am looking for a way to count words in my Affinity Publisher projects. I have found in the manual that there is a "document statistics" feature but I just cannot find how to display the panel. I have already spent quite some time looking but without success. Please help me find "document statistics".

Look at the status bar at the bottom left, but it needs to be activated in View

To get the word count you need to check "Show Word Count" first by clicking View → Show Word Count in the main menu.
Then in the status bar you will see the word counter that my colleagues are mentioning.

You can click on it to see additional information not only about the number of words, but also:

• the number of characters,
• number of characters with spaces
• number of paragraphs
• number of lines

Notice that:
If no text frame is selected, the word count displays information about the entire document.
But you can also select a specific text frame or even select part of the text in the frame to see statistics on the number of words, characters, etc. in relation to your selection.

As for document statistics, you can find them in the Fields panel. Window → References → Fields.

I have now actived it. After reading the manual I was looking for a "document statistics panel" everywhere.
