pagey Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 I have been using Affinity Publisher V2 on Mac Sonoma 14.2.1. I have loaded a PDF previously created in Word and Publisher warned me there was missing fonts. I understand that Microsoft office now keeps some of the fonts in the software and I would need to add some replacements fonts in Mac Font Book for Publisher to recognise them. What I am trying to find out is how to see where the missing fonts/replacement fonts in the loaded document are in Publisher. Is there a font manager that can find and locate the missing fonts? I can't seem to find this in Affinity Publisher V2. I only seem to get a warning when I open the PDF. Once I shut that, that's it. Any help appreciated. Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 If you uncheck the Replace Missing Fonts box, you can probably use Find and Replace to locate the font that is missing. Click the formatting cog icon for Find. Click Format in the list (not shown in this screenshot) Click Font under Character Click the dropdown that starts with All, and choose Missing. You should then be able to select the font you want in the Font family box. Click OK in that dialog, then click Find back in the Find and Replace panel. Preflight may also show where they are. Thanks for the response. When I unticked the replace missing fonts box a little box popped up on the right that says "font manager." This box then allowed me to locate the parts of the document that had the missing fonts. I am wondering if you can access font manager from the menus in publisher without having to untick the "Replace Missing Fonts" box at the beginning. I would never have found this if you hadn't helped with the instructions above. Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 You can access the Font Manager at any time via the Window menu. I don't know if it will do what you want with that box checked, though. pagey Posted January 6, 2024 Author Posted January 6, 2024 Perfect, thank you. It means I have a couple of options to deal with this issue should it arise again. walt.farrell 1 Quote
