How to remove a gradient from APho for iPad

So how do you remove a gradiant?

In the vdo, the gradient layer starts out at 100%, clicking on FX and notice it changes to 0%, leaving Fx set back to 100%

 

Something strange going on.

It doesn't do that when I remove a Gradient Overlay effect.

How did you create that object and overlay in the first place?

I cant duplicate it either, but look at vdo as in above edited comment.

The object wax created using the pen tool.

This is the same layer that had an export problem so maybe a corrupt file.
