bobdobbs Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 I'm stumbling through learning Affinity Publisher 2, and I'm about half-way through completing a very simple document. My document is starting to look ok. This document will be part of a series of reports that will be presented to an institutional body. My main design problems have been fairly elementary: readable body text and headings, sane heading and footers and cover pages. So now that my document is shaping up nicely I'm wondering: how do I preserve the document settings for further documents in this series? The first thing that comes to mind is simply opening a new copy of the document, changing the name of the copy, and replacing text and images. But I'm wondering if there is a smarter way of carrying over my document settings for a new document in the same document series. Is there a built-in workflow for document series? Can my document settings be replicated to a new empty document? Quote

MikeTO Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 Keep in mind that there's no way to keep multiple documents in sync in terms of design. If a year from now you want to change the layout or text formatting, you'll have to make changes to all of the documents. There aren't features to use an external style sheet or a way to refresh a master page in multiple documents at once. I've provided some workaround tips on importing text styles and master pages in the free manual I've shared in this forum.
