Hallo beste mensen,

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Inamini.

Writing in Dutch is fine, but some of us may respond in some other language (English, Polish, ...) :)

Please tell us more about your workflow. The answer to your question may be somewhat different if you're using Designer rather than Publisher, for example, or if you're using V1 rather than V2.

  1. If all the text is in a series of linked text frames, you could use Select All and then centre the text.
  2. If the text is in separate frames but uses consistent text styles, you could edit the text style and choose Centre which would change all text formatted with that styles.
  3. If the text is in separate frames and doesn't use text styles, then there are a few options:
    1. Using the Move tool, select all the frames on one page, and choose Centre - that will change all the text in all of the selected frames at once. You will need to repeat this for each page.
    2. Use Find and Replace. Click the Gear icon beside Find, select Format, select Paragraph, and set Alignment to Left. Click the gear icon beside Replace, select Format, select Paragraph, and set Alignment to Centre. Click the Find button and it will find all left-aligned text. Click the Replace All button to change all text in the document to centred, or click Replace for each search result you want to change.

There are other options such as using the Style Picker tool but I think this will get you started.

Cheers

Alvast weer mijn dank!

For this type of document, I recommend:

  1. Create a new document - turn off facing pages if it is on
  2. Go to the master page
  3. Using the Frame Text tool, draw a text frame on the master page
  4. Type a placeholder quotation and format it the way you want it, including centering the text
  5. Go to page 1 and replace the placeholder quotation with the actual one for that page
  6. Add additional pages and type quotations Into them, too

Good luck

In addition to Mike's recipe it may be worth to save the created text style in the Text Styles panel before modifying the master page frames on the document pages with custom content. This will make it easier to adjust the style for all frames of the document at any later stage, for instance to toggle between centred and left aligned.

1. Go to your Master Page
2. With the Text Tool select some text that is styled as wanted.
3. Go to the Text Styles Panel.
4. Press the bottom left button "Create Paragraph Style".
5. Go back to the Master Page.
6. Select all text that should have this style.
7. In the Text Styles Panel click the new created style to assign this saved style.

If you had already created text on the document pages based on this master text frame: Select their text + assign the new saved style there, too.

There are various sources especially for beginners. For instance:
