Gouping objects will not work in Affinity Designer 2.3.0
I have tried everything to no avail. If I click outside the selection, the grouping is canceled. That is not the meaning of Grouping.
I have done the same in Affinity Designer 1 and it works there without problems.
I will now have to use Affinity Designer 1 as long as this is not fixed, which I hope to fix as soon as possible.

Raven

I see the same thing. I have now done the same in Publisher 2 with no problems. It is only in Affinity Designer 2 that the problem occurs.

In Affinity Designer 2 on a blank page I created a Rectangle and a
Ellipse. I group these two with right click and choose group. When I click outside it ungroups.

If you click outside the selected objects, all objects will be deselected. This is the same behavior in all three Affinity programs. And this behavior also existed or exists in V1

You have to right-click on one of the selected objects to select the grouping option.  It is faster with CTRL+G

I have found the reason for the problem. Auto-select was on "Objects" and not on "Default" which is correct.
I thank you for the help
