1. Crop does not reveal out of canvas areas, no matter what value "Darken" is set. It does not help if the area is black or dark grey. What we need is revealing the area outside the canvas, similar to crop in Photo Persona.

2. When you increase the crop to get out-of-canvas areas visible, and then start to rotate the document or use straighten, crop tool resets to the original area without asking, killing your manual chosen crop area. This forces you into a 2 step approach (first increase size, apply, enter crop again, then straighten) and possible multipel iterations.

3. After clicking Develop, the cropped area differs from what you have finally selected in Develop persona.

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.

For a reveal option or something similar, please post a feature request in the Feedback and Suggestions section.

I'm curious of the workflow that would involve expanding the crop area outside of the image dimensions if you're developing a RAW image for the first time. As for the crop resetting to the original area, this is expected, as it's the only area available to crop. That being said we do have some issues logged with the developers regarding the Crop Tool and rotating.

I'm not seeing any difference in terms of crop area and the result after applying, see the attached screenshot. Left side is your recording paused, after you've cropped. The right is the crop area you set. If you can expand on this some more I can continue doing some testing.

Both topics are related. I actually don’t want to expand the area on its own, it is only a workaround for the missing reveal option. If you activate lens correction, relevant parts may get clipped of. It is easier to spot something missing if it is visible in the cut-off area.
BTW reveal is available in Photo Persona. Seems has been implemented long ago for a good reason - which applies even more in Develop Persona.
