Hello everyone, hope you're well!
I bought this image from Adobe Stock hoping it would be transparent without a background
But it turned out to be as it is in the attached picture.

Of course, I've got a vector file. Please help with this topic

That just looks like a screengrab of a flare with a transparent background showing but that isn't transparent. If you have a vector what file type is the vector?

Ok, Affinity apps will open .Ai files as long as the file has the PDF portion for compatibility and should also have transparency. Which app/s do you have?

It looks like it isn't handling the import well and is creating fragment images.

If you don't need the flare image as vector and to avoid surprises with incompatible files or missing transparency you could alternatively search for brushes with such an image. For instance like the light/flare brushes in the "Dreamography" set …

Hello thomaso,
Thank you for responding.

Well, none of these flare (Ai, EPS) will be performed as plain vectors in/for Affinity apps, since portions of them will always be rasterized (treated as images) on import, due to the used gradients and transparency in them. In short, Affinity isn't able to make anything out of these by Adobe software generated files in terms of vectors. - Thus buying such stuff for Affinity software is money wasted in vain. You can easily tryout any of those free flare ones here (mostly EPS files) in order to see what I mean ...
