6ixteen Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 (edited) Just started having this error last night not too sure what’s causing the issue because my other psds work when trying to load them. I’ve attached the psd and a screen recording below. RPReplay_Final1703948916.mp4 Niehr.psd Edited December 30, 2023 by 6ixteen Quote
Komatös Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Hi @6ixteen and welcome to the forums. The file cannot be opened with an older version of Photoshop either. Several layer errors are reported and loading is aborted with an incompatibility message. Dan C Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Hi @6ixteen, This file cannot be opened correctly on the current release of Photoshop either, so I can only assume this is a bad file. Lee Quote
Hangman Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Hi @6ixteen and welcome to the forums, Some software will open your file e.g., Pixelmator Pro opens it quite happily, other software such as Affinity Photo, Photo Pea and others throw up an error... Earlier versions of Affinity Photo show the following error: "The file could not be parsed. Unknown descriptor type : loat" Has the file ever been saved to or copied to a USB Stick? I've done my best to rebuild the file for you in case you don't have an original Affinity Photo file. It's saved in the latest version of Photo v2.3.0.2165 but I've also included a layered PSD file that can be opened in any version of Affinity Photo. You may (or may not) want to tweak some of the settings to suit... 6ixteen Posted December 31, 2023 Author Posted December 31, 2023 Hey @Hangman @Lee_T @Komatös thanks for the responses. I realized that there is just a problem with that file and when load other psds they work, however I did have one issue happening ever since I first got affinity on iPad. The issue is also with psds, I find that psds over around 400mb crash when trying to import them into affinity v2 on the iPad. I’m on the 9th generation and I just wanna know is it a memory issue or is there something else? Quote
Hangman Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Hi @6ixteen, Are you able to upload one of the larger PSD files where you experience a crash when attempting to open it on iPad so others can see if they experience the same issue?
