rlratkey Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Often (more than 75% of the time), when I refine a selection and click "Refine", the pop up, which reads "Refine Selection", comes on and stays on, even after the selection has been "Refined." Meaning, the selection is refined -- the red matte screen appears. At that point, I can continue working on the image (refining it, having the refined selection sent to a new layer, etc.), but the "Refine Selection" pop up remains, "stuck" in the center of the screen. I can't delete it nor move it. I can continue working. To remove it, my only recourse is to close and relaunch Affinity Photo. This started happening with V2.3.0. I am using a Dell PC, 2 years old, running Windows 11 with an Nvidia graphics card. All the software, including the drivers, are updated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the Nividia software, including drivers multiple times, including as Administrator. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Affinity Photo multiple times. Any thoughts? I'm at a loss. Here is a screen print. Although it shows the background removed, the situation occurs regardless of whether the background has been removed. Thanks. Quote
rlratkey Posted December 28, 2023 Author Posted December 28, 2023 I meant to say, this started happening with Affinity Photo Version 2.0. I am now running Affinity Photo 2.3.0. The problem has plagued me every step along the way. Quote
Ron P. Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 @rlratkey, I can not replicate this on any version. You are letting the Refine Selection, complete painting the mask? You are getting the Refine Selection Dialog (adjustments) ? Are you running the MSIX or the MSI/EXE versions? I tried searching for other reports of this behavior and so far have not located any. You could try doing a Control Run-Up to see if that might fix the issue. Press and Hold the Control key then launch AP. The reset dialog will appear. Second from the top options, Don't Restore Window and Documents, is checked. Uncheck it and see if that fixes it. Staff stokerg Posted January 2, 2024 Staff Posted January 2, 2024 Hi @rlratkey, I'm also not able to replicate this. Did the reset help that @Ron P.advised to try? Also, can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in Edit>Settings>Performance and see if you can replicate the issue then? Quote
