Mosabqadan Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Till this moment, Arabic language it’s not supported on iPad, I mean when you are writing Arabic as a test inside the app, I don’t mean the app is suppose to be in Arabic. On the other hand, other apps like Curve, illustrator and more on the iPad are supporting writing and adding Arabic text. The problem is the Arabic is writing from right to left, and some letters should be connected, this is an issue for use in the Middle East and Arabian countries Thanks, Quote
fde101 Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Hi @Mosabqadan, welcome to the forums! This limitation is not specific to the iPad versions of the apps - right-to-left and vertical text is not supported on the desktop versions either and this has come up in numerous other threads already over the past few years. David Cake Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 The lack of support for writing systems other than left to right is a major flaw in the Affinity suite. For many many potential users the lack of these features renders the apps unusable. For example it’s mandatory for many government agencies to provide texts in a variety of languages. This is not a new requirement. I’m literally kind of shocked Affinity created a text layout engine without considering this. Quote
