Hi @profd and welcome to the forums,

Assuming you're referring to the Symbols panel in Affinity Designer then in:

  • V1 - View > Studio > Symbols
  • V2 - Window > Symbols

I've tried that of course-no luck-won't recall

Perhaps it's displaying on a monitor you sometimes use, but don't currently have attached?

Or, if you've docked it, perhaps you just don't see it among its neighbors (remember, panel names can be abbreviated). Or, perhaps you have it in a Studio that's not displayed?

Or, perhaps you're in a Persona that doesn't include it?

A screenshot of the full application window would be useful, if those suggestions don't help.

For clarity, this is in Designer or the Designer Persona of Publisher where you're having issues?

Does Symbols not appear in the Windows menu at all or can you select it but in doing so you're not seeing the Symbols panel and it's definitely not docked with any of the other studio panels or just hidden off-screen somewhere?

If not then you may need to do a factory reset by holding down the Ctrl Key while launching Designer and when you see the Clear User Data screen, leave the first three options checked then click Clear and let Designer launch to see if you see it again when selected in the Windows menu.

Note: This will reset any UI customisation you may have made to the toolbar and tools menu.
