Removing Picture frames

Hi, I've right-clicked and selected 'Convert to Picture Frame' from the drop down. If I no longer want the picture frame how do I de-select it?

I seem to have tried everything but both the frame and the image are deleted. Am I missing something?

You're "missing" to make use of the Layers panel and simply dragging the child image/pixel object outside the parent picture frame.
Or you can double click the frame to select the inside image and then Layer menu → Arrange → Move Outside.
Then you can delete the empty frame.

The question remains: Why you want to do that?
