lashman Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 i know it's already possible to designate any created brush as an eraser, but it still necessitates creating a completely separate brush to achieve this, and it can lead to a pretty big mess when someone uses lots of different brushes. So it would be nice to have an additional checkbox in the brush tool toolbar (or just application settings) that would permanently (until unchecked) use the same brush settings for the eraser tool since basically that's what i want to do 99% of the time anyway. GarryP Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Isn’t this what “Settings → Assistant → Brush tool sharing → Brush shared between all tools” does for you when you switch between the Paint Brush Tool and the Eraser Brush Tool? If not, can you give more details of your requirements? Aammppaa and lashman 1 1 Quote

GarryP Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 You’re welcome. (I think “Smart Sharing” is the default setting.) lashman 1 Quote

Help: https://affinity.help/photo2/en-US.lproj/pages/Workspace/preferences.html Quote Brush tool sharing—Choose whether a selected brush and context toolbar settings are shared between tools of a similar nature (e.g. Dodge, Burn and Sponge Brush Tools), shared across all tools, or each tool's brush is set independently. The first one is Smart Sharing, which from that description would not apply to Eraser Brush Tool and Paint Brush Tool, as they are not "of a similar nature". lashman 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
