Hi Y'all.

I just did the jump into Affinity everything after twenty odd years with Adobe, and am trying to find workarounds for what I'm used to.

Right now I need some physical mockups and design/photo is lacking in the department, and I'm thinking that I might create a few macro-based mockups – has anyone else gone that route and can say if it's worthwhile or if I'm just better off doing my mockups in Blender?

The end results I'm going for are posters, totes, shirts with print deforming according to the material.

If by physical mockups you mean mockups of 3D objects then none of the Affinity apps are very suitable for that, nor is there any particularly useful way to use AP's macros for that.

Hi monocultured,

Many people use Affinity software for general product mockups, you may find the first video below helpful using the warp tools available to you.

Of course it suits the project if the blank template is an image. If you have a 3D model of the product, then you may find it easier to texture the product in Blender.

The s second video (second half) shows a great method for displacing the design to a t-shirt.

You could create macros for a good portion of the process if required.

Thanks for the replies.

The mockups I'm doing aren't real 3D, but rather standard logo distorted onto fabric, wrapping paper, packaging, etc. Am still new to Affinity so am finding my way around it – want to automate as much as I can down the line.

Cheers
