Steel Rat
I searched for this, but could not find anything. When I'm editing a .aphoto image, and save it, then when I export, it then shows the .aphoto file as "modified", when no modifications were made. Why would an export be a modification? walt.farrell
You're not the first to have noticed this and complained about it. It's because when you Export the settings you used in the Export operation are saved with the file, so they can serve as the default settings for the next time you Export it. You can see this in the History panel. Steel Rat
I see. So it only happens if I change the export options, not just exporting itself.

Created a new .aphoto file. And opened the export screen. As soon as I changed one of the options, it said the file was modified. Tried again with another existing file, and it didn't show as modified when changing the export options.

Is the History panel a reliable indicator for a modified state? – To me (mac, V1) there are situations where History vs. Modified / Save aren't congruent. Especially if the History slider gets fully reset I would expect the Modified state would be reset, too. It was still modified; you're just ignoring some of them for now. Yes, the History panel is a reliable indicator, but it's only partial. You need to know when Save was last issued, which (as far as I remember) isn't recorded there. I think it's consistent, but you just don't understand all of the scenario yet. (And I'm not sure I do, either.) I don't know what you mean by "setting it", because this item (the date and time listed in it) can only be set by Exporting the document, and this Export will mark that document as Modified (which is the subject of this thread). Pšenda
34 minutes ago, walt.farrell said: Not every Export marks the document as Modified, but every one should set that field. Each first export after a document change (a document change can also be caused by a change in export parameters) requires a new save of the document by setting the Modified flag. If you then repeatedly export the same thing - i.e. you only overwrite the same file with the same file, then from the point of view of the document, nothing fundamental changes, and there is no need to save the file. Therefore, the moment is important for the administration of the document, when the given document (its current state) was saved and exported/printed for the first time after this saving, not all individual exports/prints. Edit: To clarify, from the times listed here, it is clear that the file was modified - and this modified/saved file was then exported. So the most recent status of the document was exported. Here you can see that the file has been modified/saved since the last export, but this new state has not been exported - so the export/copy of the document is outdated and does not correspond to the new state of the document.
