Bob529 Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 I am sure this is a basic question, but I am learning Affinity photo after using photoshop. When I have an area of an image that I select with a square selection, then copy that area I would like to go to new window and have that area be the same size as the area I selected and copied. Seems like I did this all the time in ps but I can't figure it out with Affinity photo. Thanks, Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. That should work if you use Edit > Copy then File > New From Clipboard, but you'll need to make sure you're copying from a Pixel layer. If you have an Image layer instead of a Pixel layer, then a simple Copy won't work. You would need to Rasterize the Image layer to access its pixels, or possibly Edit > Copy Merged or Copy Flattened.
