patrick_112
How do I set European paper sizes? Now I have made an A4 document, but the printer here in the Netherlands cannot do anything with it, because it is American paper size. markw
International A4 standard is 210mm x 297mm as per the Affinity A4 presets. Can you give more details about how you setup your document ? You can change your current document size at any time by going into Document Setup found under the File menu in Designer. Which Affinity app are you working in? patrick_112 1 Quote macOS 10.15.7 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M

Hangman
Hi @patrick_112, The EU paper sizes appear in the V2 New Document and Document Setup windows and if you need sizes not included by default you can simply add your own presets... Is the Dutch Printing saying they need your document to match a US Paper rather than A4 or are they saying that the document you've provided is a US Size rather than A4? patrick_112 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1.2217 Affinity Designer Beta 2.4.0.2279 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.4.0.2279 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.4.0.2279 Affinity Designer 1.7.3 | Affinity Photo 1.7.3 | Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 MacBook Pro 16GB, macOS Monterey 12.6.

PaulEC
Standard American (US) paper sizes are Letter, Legal etc. not the A series (A4 etc) which is the standard in Europe and most other countries. patrick_112 1 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 : Windows 10 Home Affinity Publisher 2 : Affinity Photo 2 : Affinity Designer 2 : (latest release versions) on desktop and iPad

There is no such thing as a US A4 paper size... If your printer requires an EU, A4 document then you simply need to ensure it is 210 mm x 297 mm in the Document Setup window in your Affinity App. Have you provided your file as a PDF to your Dutch printing company? If so when you open the file in Acrobat Reader, what page size is shown in the Document Properties for the PDF... patrick_112 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1.2217 Affinity Designer Beta 2.4.0.2279 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.4.0.2279 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.4.0.2279 Affinity Designer 1.7.3 | Affinity Photo 1.7.3 | Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 MacBook Pro 16GB, macOS Monterey 12.6.
PaulEC
After a quick "Google" I found the following, which may account for the confusion! (It's not something I've heard of before.) "The Letter The most popular U.S. paper is the “Letter,” the familiar 8.5″ x 11″ used in all offices across America. It’s also known as “A” size. Its European counterpart is A4, which is close: 8.3 x 11.7 inches or 210 x 297 mm." I'm assuming that what the printer means is that the document is the American "A" size, and what he wants is the standard European "A4". As the two are so close in size, it should be a simple matter of resizing the document, (in Document Setup) which, hopefully, should not affect the layout of the pages too much. patrick_112 1 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 : Windows 10 Home Affinity Publisher 2 : Affinity Photo 2 : Affinity Designer 2 : (latest release versions) on desktop and iPad

Then you would get the A4 sheet with a blank area of 26 mm. • Or they could print your US letter file on A4 sheets in 100% print size: Then you may get a small area (6 mm) in your layout width that will not be printed (off the sheet) and a larger area (18 mm) on the print sheet's height which will remain blank. patrick_112 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 only
