Hi

Prior to version 2.3 in Affinity Designer, it was possible to edit the shortcut for Full Screen in settings.
After updating to 2.3, can not seem to find this option in settings. Is it moved, removed or a version bug?

Hi @Darner,

That does appear to be missing in v2.3.0 for some reason.

It was one of those shortcuts that appeared numerous times in the Shortcuts panel along with Emoji & Symbols and it seems both shortcuts have been completely removed in the latest version rather than only appearing once...

Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3
MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse
HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

Thanks for the feedback. Let's hope it reappears in next update.

I can confirm that both of these options were removed from the Shortcuts list in Affinity 2.3 - as these are macOS system shortcuts and are not designed to be changed from their original settings.

Unfortunately these options appearing within Affinity in previous versions was a bug, (both the multiple entries, and the specific options themselves) and therefore these are no longer available in the app.

I hope this clears things up :)

Thank you, yes the info helps.
Mentioned this issue, as cmd+f is a shortcut of habit from Adobe, and was possible to replicate here before v 2.3.
In Affinity it's by default (at least on this computer) with cmd+ctrl+f.
Not the biggest issue, but would make more sense / simplify to have just cmd+f.
I also have issue with shortcut for grid as mentioned in previous post. It used to be cmd+', (left side) but after v 2, it's now cmd+¨(right side).

So not 100% sure if the full screen shortcut is a Affinity / Mac issue with this keyboard, or a general one.

Hope this clarifies a bit as well:)

I believe this is OS Version specific, on Monterey it's still Fn F.

You can change this at an OS level by doing the following:

  1. Go to your Mac System Settings
  2. Select Keyboard
  3. Select Shortcuts
  4. Select App Shortcuts
  5. Click the + button on the right
  6. Select whether you want the shortcut to apply to all apps or specific apps from the dropdown menu
  7. Type Toggle Full Screen (exactly as it appears in the App)
  8. Type Cmd F for your Keyboard Shortcut
  9. Click Add and Voila

That certainly works on Monterey and should I believe also work on other versions of macOS...

Appreciated. That was a good "voila".
Also nice tips with the fn+f.
Details details...Gonna go full screen all over the place now😂
