firstdefence Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Thought it would end up like this, two UI posts and the rest off topic, well done. debraspicher Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I would love to see moderated threads on important topics that are community led. Maybe something Q&A style? UI/UX are mission critical topics. Some people only chime in if there's less risk of being sidetracked with forum culture commentary and they think they have more of a chance of being heard. We won't see it probably, but I just thought I'd chime in to put my two cents in, so it's the intent that counts... Quote

I don't understand what you mean. Aren't all the topics the community can post to moderated by the staff? Not at all. For the most part threads can be derailed pretty easily. (I understand staffing shouldn't be fixated on some forum, so this is only a passing thought to Serif directly). One single thread that focuses on a specific topic of importance and it isn't individual-specific makes it easier to form a cohesive commentary around the same said topic by multiple users, though the point is not to find a consensus, but rather gain a larger perspective... We kind of do this already in the beta forums with the discussions being managed more closely by Serif. Quote

Are you suggesting that the forum moderators should be much stricter about hiding/deleting posts that are not clearly or completely about the initial topic of the OP?
