Olo Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Affinity Photo can ingest and work with HDR files beautifully. I desperately need to process batches of them for export/convertion to JPG for previews. I think that all it would require is adding an option in the file-type filters selections in the input part of the batch job user interface. Thank you. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. It's available in the New Batch Job dialog for Photo on Windows. I'm not seeing any filtering in the Affinity Finder dialogs on my Mac, though, if that's what you're using. Olo Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 So they are! It's great to see that. It's possible that the latest version added that filter. Thanks! walt.farrell 1 Quote

I'm using the latest version and it's nowhere to be found. What am I missing? I have about 150 HDR's to process. I'd rather do this with one button press if possible. Quote

I just started Photo on my Mac, used File > New Batch Job, and the files are available. More details on what you're doing, and the file types, and where the files are located, might be useful. Perhaps some screenshots? Bololoco Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 I have the option to batch process under the "file" section but there are no options to batch process HDR merges Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Sorry, @Bololoco, I misunderstood what you wanted to do. This topic was originally about basic processing of HDR files, not merging. If you want to do HDR Merges, you will need to use File > New HDR Merge, then select the related files, then Save or Export the result. There's nothing in Photo to automate beyond that as far as I know. Bololoco Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 I thought this thread was about batch processing HDR merges? If that's not the case, then it's definitely a feature I would like to see added. I've spent the past 14 hours manually merging files and i've still got another 20+ to do. It's very annoying as it's an obvious feature and this is time I'd rather spend doing something more creative. On the plus side, I have previewed a small selection of my HDR images, stitched together as a panorama and it looks absolutely amazing. I just wish it didn't have to take me all day to achieve it. Bololoco Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 So do the Affinity team actually read the suggestions threads? Quote

But it would probably be better to find one specifically talking about HDR Merging and add your voice there, or start your own topic to request it. 17 minutes ago, Bololoco said: I thought this thread was about batch processing HDR merges? Not as far as I know. It seemed to be about being able to add HDR images to a batch job at all, not about being able to merge them. Bololoco Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Well i've just finished my panorama....it looks excellent other than the fact that I missed a few areas . It's also picked up a few unwanted artifacts in the sky, which I imagine is due to the HDR rendering. The original is 1300 megapixels in size which is going to render way too big for this site so here's a smaller file. HDR seems to lend itself to vast panoramas but as this took me all day, it's not something i'll be doing too often until they can update the toolkit. Also, I don't expect them to act on my suggestions any time soon, so perhaps i'll have to look at other software. Any suggestions? walt.farrell 1 Quote
